This week, after the intensity of the conference, I fell into the flood of the river in spring that was the backlog of work in the office and it washed over me and pulled me down, with only the occasional eddy that allowed me to catch a breathe. In the midst of this I sent out a couple of head shots to sales guys who had asked for them, bulleting them out with a quick, “It was nice to meet you, I look forward to working with you more in the future.”
I received a response from one guy who responded, “Thanks, Vanessa! I look forward to working you in the future!”
Maybe it was the stress, maybe it was the Tired, but I dissolved into a puddle of giggles right there on my desk. My forehead touched my keyboard and I pressed the keys into my face firmly, shaking with guffaws.
When I had recovered sufficiently, I wrote back, offering, “I’m going to choose to read that as working WITH you, but thanks!”
If you remember, I do this sort of thing all the time, so I can appreciate a “well-worded” email now and then! It really made my day. Thanks, Enrique!
